Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has been urged not to reinstate the Bahrain Grand Prix to the world championship calendar until the Gulf State's political situation has returned to normal. With ongoing conflict between the authorities and pro-democracy activists, and the island under a State of Emergency, there already appears little chance of this year's Bahrain GP getting rescheduled.

Teams expect ?alternative? Turkey tactics
Formula 1 teams could opt for some 'alternative' strategies in next week's Turkish Grand Prix because of the expected high levels of tyre degradation. That is the view of Sauber technical director James Key, who reckons that the challenging Istanbul circuit - which includes the punishing Turn 8 ? will make tyre management key to the race. "It will be another interesting event for the tyres, because the famous turn eight is one of the high speed corners of the year with the highest loading of the tyres," he explained.

While most eyes were on the championship chase in the final week of the season in the NASCAR iRacing.com Class C Series (NiCCS), Brian Schoenburg had his eyes on different goals. Schoenburg would come out on top of over 1600 other sim racers by taking the overall victory at Chicagoland Speedway in Week Twelve of 2011 Season One. Audi drivers thrilled with new car
Audi's drivers hailed the performance and driving ease of the new R18 TDI at Le Mans after it emerged quickest from yesterday's pre-race test day. Tom Kristensen and Mike Rockenfeller gave Audi a one-two in the test, although Stephane Sarrazin was within 0.2 seconds in the best of the Peugeots. Although Audi has completed extensive testing elsewhere with its new closed-top car, this was its first run at the home of the race it has been primarily designed for.

Foresti scores dominant maiden win
Lucas Foresti claimed his maiden British Formula 3 win with a commanding performance in the first race at Oulton Park this afternoon. The Brazilian Fortec driver converted the first pole position of his British F3 career into an immediate lead with a ballistic start, while fellow front row starter Felipe Nasr (Carlin) made a poor getaway and fell behind T-Sport's Menasheh Idafar, who nipped up the inside through Old Hall.

The Curtain Comes Down
From the long blasts in Belgium, ups and downs in the UK, airfields in the US and an Australian island, two cars have thundered and screamed there way round 10 vastly different challenges this season. Those two cars, the gazelle-like Radical SR8 and thundercat Corvette C6.R, now have just a couple more weeks left before the season ends and more online racing champions are crowned. The cars now make one last trip across the Atlantic from the famous Ardennes Forest and its Spa-Francorchamps race circuit, to the flat-out blasts of Road America. Sim racers now just have two weeks to make their challenges for championship glory at the end of an epic season. Briscoe stays on top in final practice
Ryan Briscoe was fastest again in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the IndyCar Series' Long Beach round. The Australian set a 1m10.322s lap early on, and though his Penske team-mate Will Power kept edging closer, Briscoe stayed ahead by 0.038 seconds.

Ramos takes pole for race two
Italian Formula 3 champion Cesar Ramos has taken pole position for Motorland Aragon's second Formula Renault 3.5 race this morning. The Brazilian set the pace during Friday's practice session, but had a troubled Saturday. The Fortec driver flat-spotted his tyres with a spin in qualifying and would start from 16th.
